Older Adult Falls
Preventing falls is an important piece of caring for an aging population. At the Penn Injury Science Center, our Scholars are working with cutting edge “smart home” solutions for aging, assessing the potential of wearable devices or digitally augmented residential settings to facilitate passive monitoring and support independence and quality of life for older adults. A critical component of this work is understanding and adapting solutions to privacy concerns and perceived intrusiveness that accompanies these types of technology.
